A random act of kindness.
A smile. A hug. A meal. Flowers. Even more valuable—our time.
Elders have much to say before they pass. They’ve lived through hell. And survived. Their wisdom is worth far more than gold.
We won’t know it, though, because they’ve lived long enough to know that no one listens to folks who shout from rooftops anymore.
We won’t know. . . unless we ask.
Unless we offer a random act of kindness that is the gift of our time. Our attention. Our inquisitiveness.

Capture those memories and the lessons gleaned —and pass them on.
Tell us in the comments—what’s something you learned from an elder when you thought you were going to “help” them and came away fuller and richer than ever before?

I learned how lucky I truly am. My grandparents didn’t have the same luxuries I have today. They had to worry about eating and I never I have to worry about that. It makes me appreciate how much I truly have.
Also, I love your writing. It’s very inspirational!
