Who are your favorite people to be around?

I always say I don’t like to play favorites.

But when the WordPress blog gods asked this question for the day, “Who are your favorite people to be around?” I immediately thought about who they are.

Now, mind you, I don’t think I should have favorites! I think I should love everyone and that with the perfect love of God. And I try to let His Spirit do this through my heart, behaviors, and choices.

However, I hereby admit to myself and to the world that I have some personal favorites.

My personal favorites are the ones who have been trustworthy.

They’re the ones who haven’t gossiped about me behind my back—or at least I don’t think they do. (Do you?)

They’re the ones who let me be myself, flaws and all, knowing that I just need to vent sometimes and then, with a word of understanding, I can pull my self back together.

They’re the ones who help me laugh, including laughing at myself.

They’re the ones who let me know what they’re really thinking and feeling.

They’re the ones who are also open to laughing at themselves. Because we’re all in this together, right?

They’re the ones who push themselves a little outside their comfort zones to grow, not improve, to love.

How about you? Who are your favorites?
